Privacy

Short. Plain.
Not negotiable.

Lantern is a happiness tracker. The whole product is built around noticing things about your own life that nobody else needs to see. So our privacy posture is short, plain, and not negotiable.

What we collect.

  • The energy ratings, activities, lenses, moods, and notes you choose to log.
  • The email address you use to sign in, if you sign in.
  • Nothing else. No tracking pixels, no advertising IDs, no third-party analytics.

Where it lives.

  • On your device first. Every entry saves to local storage in your browser.
  • Optionally synced to your account if you sign in, so it follows you between phone, tablet, and computer.
  • We do not store your data anywhere else, share it with anyone, or train models on it.

What we never do.

  • We don’t sell your data. We don’t run ads. We don’t embed third-party trackers.
  • We don’t sync unless you ask us to.
  • We don’t keep deleted accounts in a shadow copy. Erase means erase.

Your rights.

  • Export your full journal anytime, in Markdown or CSV. From inside the app.
  • Delete your account and everything in it whenever you choose.
  • Email stpierre.alistair@gmail.com to request a copy or removal of anything we hold.

Cookies and analytics.

  • The marketing site uses no third-party analytics.
  • The app sets exactly one cookie, for your session, only if you sign in.
  • That’s it.

Children.

Lantern is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we’ll remove the account.

Changes.

We’re a tiny team in early access. If anything on this page changes meaningfully, we’ll tell you the next time you open the app, not the next time you read the fine print.

Contact.

Questions, requests, or just a hello: stpierre.alistair@gmail.com.
