Who’s covered.
These terms apply to anyone using Lantern, the happiness tracker at https://lantern.happiness-daily.com, and this marketing site at https://www.happiness-daily.com.
Early access.
Lantern is free during early access. We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, anyone who signed up during early access will get advance notice and early-supporter terms.
Your account.
- You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in safe.
- You can delete your account anytime from inside the app.
- We can suspend accounts that are clearly abusive (spam, attempts to compromise the service, that sort of thing). We’ve never had to.
Your data.
- Your journal entries belong to you. We treat them as yours, period.
- See our privacy page for the specifics.
- You can export everything in Markdown or CSV anytime.
Acceptable use.
Lantern is a tool for personal reflection. Please don’t use it to harass, threaten, or impersonate people. Please don’t try to break the service.
What we don’t promise.
- Lantern is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running, but we can’t promise zero downtime.
- We’re not licensed therapists, doctors, or coaches. If you’re in crisis, please reach out to a professional. Lantern is a journal, not a treatment plan.
- We may change features, prices, or these terms. If we change them meaningfully, we’ll tell you.
Liability.
Within the limits the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the service. If you somehow lose data (we’ll try very hard to prevent this), our liability is limited to refunding any subscription fees you’ve paid us. During early access that’s zero.
Contact.
We’re just getting started. Send questions, feedback, and bug reports to stpierre.alistair@gmail.com. We read every message.
